Meet Dr. Alla Montazer

Learn about my journey, my approach to therapy, and my commitment to providing a safe, culturally informed, and effective therapeutic experience.

My journey to psychology

After a decade in corporate tax and accounting, I recognised that my energy was never in the numbers — it was in the people. That realisation led me to pursue a Professional Doctorate in Counselling Psychology, which I completed alongside the arrival of my first child and a full-time workload.

Being British-Ukrainian has meant spending my life moving between cultural frameworks. That experience has sharpened my sensitivity to how culture shapes the way people hold pain, express need, and seek help — and it sits at the centre of my clinical work.

I specialise in trauma. I work with people who have been through experiences that were too overwhelming to process in the moment, and who are now looking for a safe, informed space to make sense of what happened. My approach is warm, direct, and grounded in evidence — and above all, in the person sitting across from me.

My unique approach to therapy

You are the expert on your own experience. My role is to offer a safe, non-judgmental space where you can explore what's truly happening for you.

Drawing on evidence-based approaches — including CBT, Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and EMDR — I tailor each session to your specific needs, blending models to create a treatment plan that fits your presentation.

What I value most is the moment a client begins to see things differently and gains the confidence to move forward. Building a relationship where someone feels genuinely safe is, in my experience, the foundation on which change in every other area of life becomes possible.

What makes my practice stand out

I bring sensitivity, self-awareness, and curiosity to my work with people. While there is no one-size-fits-all approach to healing, I believe a safe therapeutic space makes a profound difference in how a person navigates the challenges they face.
